Dear readers,
A new year started off and we wish you happiness, joy and success. May the traditional
wishes of “health” really come true.
This year again, we shall try to keep you informed about different and interesting
subjects. As a federative organisation, it is essential that our members, the breeders,
the judges, the exhibitors be kept updated with the activities organised by the
national canine organisations, with the routine that makes their daily work or with
the different working championships as we also want to focus on the work, the missions,
the functions that our dogs are able to perform.
We shall keep taking time to make you a bit more familiar with our national canine
organisations by allocating them a specific space. In the issue you are about to
read, we have chosen to highlight our Ecuadorian member, AERCAN.

Philippine Canine Club, INC. 55th & 56th FCI All-Breed Championship Dog Show
The Philippine Canine Club, Inc. (PCCI) started its year-long celebration of the
PCCI’s 50th year Anniversary by holding its 55th and 56th FCI All-Breed Championship
Dog Show at the Activity Center of the Philippine Canine Club, Inc. in Marikina
City, Philippines on Saturday and Sunday January 12 & 13, 2013. The said shows were
adjudicated by well-known international judges, Mr Victor Jones from Australia and
Ms Barbara Müller from Switzerland, respectively. Mr Jones is a life member of the
Canine Control Council of Queensland and has been judging dogs since 1958. Ms Barbara
Müller has been involved with dogs since she was a child and she is currently a
member of the Swiss Kennel Club Board and member of the FCI Show and Show Judges commissions.
Foreign registered entries from USA, Japan, Korea & South Africa along with hundreds
of high quality local bred dogs participated in the show. The show started at 9:30
a.m. and finished at around 5:30 p.m. on both days.

F. CASTIGADOR and bred by E. FOLEY, H. FOLEY & T.L. COSSAR.
The Best in Show winner for the 56th FCI All-Breed Championship Dog Show under judge
Ms Barbara Müller from Switzerland was a Philippine-bred Pug, PHIL HOF/JR CH OROGRAND
DMMC LUCKY CHARM, PCCI Reg. No. 30626N5 Bred and owned by Mr ERNIE L ROLIDA.
The judges were hosted at the Holiday Inn Galleria Hotel just beside the Robinson’s
shopping mall. The PCCI Officers headed by its President, Mr Augusto Benedicto Santos
III and Vice-President, Mr Ronnie Natividad, took turns entertaining the judges
to make sure that their visit in Manila would be one of their most memorable experiences.
